Dr. Mark Horowitz, owner of Downtown Family Medicine, received his medical
degree from the State University
of New York Health Sciences Center at Stony
Brook. Following medical school, he completed a three year residency
in Family Medicine at the Somerset
Medical Center in Somerville, NJ and a one-year Fellowship in Adolescent
Medicine and Ambulatory Pediatrics at the Metropolitan Hospital Center
in New York. In 1992, he completed a one-month intensive fellowship in
the care of the HIV infected patient. This fellowship was under the sponsorship
of the Infectious Diseases
Society of America and was at the Memorial
Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and at the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. He also has a special interest in Adolescent Medicine
and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Adolescent Medicine
from the American Board of Family Practice. He serves as the medical
consultant to the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) of the City
University of New York (CUNY).
He has served as the medical advisor to the Juilliard School for the
Performing Arts and to Pace University's Manhattan Campus. He has also
directed the Youth Health Service at the Lutheran Medical Center.
